well...went to sakura at science center to hav a big big meal with the guys...!!!crapped alot and walked alot...hahahas...kinda lost our way...
one of the qn todae was...describe the 3 stages of child labour....welll..i din study tt part and most of the guys din..so we had a amusin discussion bout this after the paper...
kevin was like sayin...first stage...mother scream....2nd stage doctor scream...3rd stage baby scream...hahahas...and i tink its very tRUE...!!!though it wasnt the model ans...had a great laugh bout this...

yoo...here to write my review on 'Eldest' by Christopher Paolini
bet some of you guys hav already caught the show 'Eragon' and this book is the sequel to that show...and i had a hard time gettin the book as it was kinda new...published on 2005...credits to sherwyn for lendin it to mi...!
well...a brief history on the trilogy...
the first book 'Eragon' was written by the author when he was 15...and it was first published when he was in college...it took a long time for him to refine his plot and manuscript...and by sheer luck, he was able to publish his book...'eldest' was completed jus recently...2years ago...and the last of the trilogy is on its way to the shelves...its a much anticipated book for all the fantasy fans out dere...
honestly speakin...fantasy genre aint reali my type...except for major works such as LOTR...but this trilogy on the mythical dragon riders caught my attention when i saw the cover of the first book...a blue dragon named saphira...and the second book, a red dragon called thorn...
i stayed up late last nite to complete the book and it wasnt that hard as the endin of the book was grippin my nerves...din reali feel any fatigue despite readin into the wee hours...the endin was comparable to LOTR where a great battle between the different races commenced...(LOTR still remains as my fav though...)
the book started off by depicting eragon embarkin on a journey to the elves homeland to learn his trade as a rider...as elves' knowledge on magic is the greatest among the other races and they were the pioneers that intiated the bonds between dragons and riders...
the whole book is so interestin due to the many dilemma encountered by the different races and individuals that it makes you wana continue readin...insights to all this i suggest you guys to read the book...
for those hu is interested in readin the book, do not continue on readin this post...cos i will be revealin some of the twists in the story from here onwards...
one of the twists in the story which i personally love was that throughout the whole series, it was made clear that no riders survived after the invasion by galbotorix except for galbotorix himself wif shruikan his black dragon...eragon a newfound rider with saphira a blue female dragon...and brom whose dragon was murdered durin the years of the invasion...and he eventually died in the first book...thus there were no other riders other then this 2...but...dere was one elf rider who appeared in the 2nd book...and he, oromis, had a magnificient male golden dragon named Glaedr...and oromis was the one whom will tutor and guide eragon as a new rider passin down all the knowledge and skill needed to be a great rider...an interestin fact bout oromis was his nickname...'the crippled who is whole'...go figure this one yourself...
another twist was that the 2 eggs that galbotorix had, one hatched into saphira upon eragon's touch...another remained unhatched...and i personally thought tt it wuld only hatch in the third book...but to my surprise, it hatched into Thorn the red male dragon on the cover...i wuld not divulge who thorn's rider is and that is the twist of all twists in this book...thus, i shadnt reveal more...
and of course like any other fantasy authors, paolini also instilled certain situations in the book to depict stuff that are certainly happenin to us in the reality...such as a conversation between eragon and oromis after eragon's daily lesson...the whole argument was bout 3-4 pages long...so i will shorten to the best i can...
eragon presented himself to oromis, "master, it struck me last night that neither you nor the hundreds of elven scrolls i've read mentioned your religion. what do you elves believe in? "
"we believe that the world behaves according to certain inviolable rules and that, by persistent effort, we can discover those rules and use them to predict events when circumstances repeat."
eragon blinked and asked, "but what or who do you worship?
"nothin"
"you worship the concept of nothing?"
"no eragon. we do not worship at all..."
(after a whole page of describing how confused and bewildered eragon felt) he ask,
"where do you think the world came from then, if it wasnt created by the gods?"
oromis replied, "i would not necessary agree with you. but as that may, i canot prove that gods do not exist. nor can i prove that the world and everytin in it was not created by an entity or entities in the distant past. but i can tell you that in the millennia we elves hav studied nature, we hav never witnessed an instance where the rules that govern the world have been broken. that is, we have never seen a miracle. many events have defied our ability to explain, but we are convinced that we failed because we are still woefully ignorant bout the universe and not because a deity altered the workings of nature."
"a god wouldnt have to alter nature to accomplish his will" asserted eragon, "he could do it within the system that already exists....he could use magic to affect events..."
oromis smiled, "very true. but ask yourself this, eragon. if god ever exist, hav they been good custodians of Alagaesia? death, sickness,poverty,tyranny and countless other miseries stalk the land. if this is the handiwork of divine beings, then they are to be rebelled against and overthrown, not given obeisance, obedience and reverance."
"but the dwarves believes---"
"exactly! the dwarves believes. when it comes to certain matters, they rely upon faith rather than reason. they have even been known to ignore proven facts that contradict their dogma..."
and the whole conversation goes on makin such an impact on eragon that he went several days tinkin that his master had upturned whatever he had believed in since he was young.
though his master's advise to him was..."depend on yourself watever comes...that makes us more responsible to our actions and not blame it on some gods that we believed in..."
very interestin perspective of paolini to convey this message in his book...of cos i do not hundred percent agree...but still...worth bringin it up... =)
had a great time readin this book and i cant wait for the last volume of this inheritance trilogy...

humans are terrible creations...so much ugly sides hav been shown...
a body ever so charmin might jus be a shell for a wretched soul...be wary...it scares the hell out of me to know existence of such humans...
its been said humans are the only creatures that attack their own kind...i find that amusingly true yet deeply depressed at the same time...
this issue has seldom been brought up...greatly due to the fact that humans would not criticise themselves...they would rather bring attention to unimportant things...
for you guys out dere...you mus be wondering why am i speakin in context of a third party...
well...its bcos i hav been immersin myself with fantasy books...and humans have always been regarded as vile and definitely a race that tends to displace people's trust...
i will be postin much more regardin thoughts that i hav generated from readin christopher paolini sequel to 'eragon', entitled 'eldest'

a long interval since i blogged...wanted to post a few days bac...but my lazy bones jus push tt idea aside in my head...lotsa things happened...and as usual...i m jus too lazy to typed it out...so ppl its another short post...jus zoom rite into the impt points...
celebrated shiyun bdae on sunday...went ard town to find a nice place to eat...and we ended up in MOF...lols...went to kbox after tt and had a serendipity with the lady at the counter...she is so CUTE...so we kinda sang our hearts out till bout 4...before CABbed to home sweet home...
i was still awake ard 5...i kinda foresee that i wun be able to wake up for sch...so i msged kevin...lols...so i woke up real late and i jus spent my monday afternn doin senseless stuff instead of studyin for met bio....>.<
tml will be metbio...and i aint prepared for it...and i m waitin for the dota game to start...i m such a sinner....i realised its been a long long time...seems like light years tt i hav come up wif a poem...i promise i will soon start excitin my brain juices to work out one...
anyway...for ppl cravin for interestin reads...one of my buddies lik a.k.a lyarn (as known on my tagboard) has started writin his very own novel series entitled WWJD episodes...u guys can click at the link 'lik' on the right side of the page to enjoy his works...i guarantee you tt u wun be disappointed...do post comments on his works as it willl be greatly appreciated by him...

well..the bounto war jus ended...and this epi is kinda like a buff epi to bring the whole show into the right track for the nxt epi...drawings were definitely better tis epi n hope it continues on...

wooo...
jus got bac fr tzeyang's bdae party after my work...its a simple affair...beside the esplanade wif a cpuple of liquour....namely scotch and chivas....i jus got home...kinda marboh...lol
still feelin the effects from the alcohol feelin kinda heavy...
but i guess i can still take it since i can still type this entry...although i m tryin hard to correct any typo...
well...we kinda had a cool encounter wif a couple...lols..
they were givin us a good show...wahahas...the suntec colleagues wuld understan...
ohya...i forgot...this party was celebrated wif the rest of the suntec colleagues...damn fun...i guess cavan must hav went buang after he went off alone...
since he lived in clementi....no one were able to make sure he is home safe...jus hope god bless him....lols...tobey, elroy, cavan and bolin all tried to make tzeyang marboh on his 18th bdae...and i guess we succeeded...lols....he vomitted twice...~~
lols...once beside the river and once at the hawker centre beside DXo....tink we were the better drinker...
most culdnt drink much....
well...guess the water is hot now...jus wana go for my hot water bath...lols..

last week of the holidays...have been chiongin work between suntec and MOF...recently more at MOF...last day of work todae for hols...gotta take a break and catch up on my assignments and sch work...
MOF...chan's cousin restaurant...japanese restaurant...Ministry of Food...jus behind secret recipe at Centerstage in Marina Sq...dessserts dere are reali good...
most ppl started sch....and as usual i always hav tt time lag when sch starts again...will be laggin in everytin...and the bad thing is tt exams are jus 3wks after the sch reopenin...wats botherin mi aint jus exams...lotsa activities too...Haiz...
well at least sumting good to report...i slepT for the longest time at home last night...wOOO...

wOooo...wat a countdown i had this year...it was spent wif my dearest frens...the TH gang...way better den the last one...(refer to last year's post...lols...)
well..this countdown is definitely full of alcohols and crap...hahas...
had dinner at Riverside Indonesian Restaurant...den moved from one side of clark quay to another where we had a couple of house pours at bungee bar...n Geees....there was this waitress who is damn chio...sharp features...killer look...>.<
too bad we din stay for long...took a cab down to dempsey road to elroy's workplace for wine...wine company...tts the name of the place...very desolated place...but nice ambience...opened 2 bottles of white wine...a couple of heineken, b-52, black label for countdown..n more heineken at shiyun's workplace down the road...Oosh...tts the name of her workplace...a freakin high end fine dining place...
we had the countdown at wine company...n i downed 4 shots of black label after the clock strikes 12....each representin my new year resolutions which i shall not disclose...lols
guess it was a fruitful trip dere for mi definitely...drank alot...tok alot...after which is to sher hse...play cards, drank sumore...
n eventually elroy doug n i cui-ed on the bed while the rest left in the mornin...we were down all the way till 4...n jus got home...hahas...
might get to drink again tonite...soccer tonite...still decidin whose hse to go...guess i shuld go get sum slp to make sure i will stay awake tonite...ciaos...

and the rain is pourin n pourin but we still went on wif the soccer scrimmage...had fun...but felt sick...cos of the stupid weather...>.<
vintage at attica was next...and it is still raining...kinda dampened our mood...and as usual the r&b floor is damn crowded and the underaged guys reali deserve to get beaten up man...

ADD was way cool...chris is an absolutely crazy emcee...real humorous and he reminds mi of gurmit...wahhas...had fun wif the seniors after tt in kbox and i went home in the mornin cos got a suntec soccer trng in boon keng...
and the rain is pourin n pourin but we still went on wif the soccer scrimmage...had fun...but felt sick...cos of the stupid weather...>.<
vintage at attica was next...and it is still raining...kinda dampened our mood...and as usual the r&b floor is damn crowded and the underaged guys reali deserve to get beaten up man...

team spirit wasnt dere for the WHOLE team...for those hu came n for those didnt...
disappointed...?of cos...since i captained the team to 2nd...when the expectations was to retain the title...
but still...lost to a worthy opponent...5points...
guess we will try again the nxt year....never to give up...

intercons bball fINALs here we come...!!!
we proceeded to the finals after todae's match VS MM...tough fight...as usual, gary dazzlin on the court helpin MM for a spot in the finals...but we prevailed...once again....reali hope to get it one more time n get a double...hopefully a treble to end my sch life in sp... =)
sadly, capt ball team crashed out to SMA...was played concurrently wif my match so culdnt watch...heard that lotsa biased calls and other stuff caused the defeat...thus, with soccer team not bein able to get into the semis...the shield kinda no hope liaos... =(

i almost wanted to start this post wif the same line as my last post...wif some slight changes though...ahhas
its late...just got to andy hse...went for a movie wif the TH guys at cine after i went home fr the SPSU match...SHagged...slpin real soon...
whole day started wif mi troubling over my event n the SPSU match...in the end the event went smoothly...n we won the match...so i guess...All well that enDs weLL...
so now 3 down, MIT, CADC & SPSU...left BE to decide if we get top of the grp...guess we played overall ok for the last 3 matches...todae's match was the best performance esp def...well...considerin we only hav 7 players...still duno how to gauge my own performance...hopefully its ok...since u cant judge it on ur own...jus hope that i will be able to lead the team to the top one more timne this year regardless of the obstacles in the way...oso gd luck to capt ball team and soccer team....

its late...n i jus got home from movie wif the tauhuay guys...
step up is a cool show...the usual love story between 2 dance partners hu happened to get a chance to come tgt and came up wif a routine mixing hip hop and contemporary...
got all hyped up after the show though its late...and the unluckiest thing happened to elroy...shadnt say too much...but i m prayin for elroy to submit his assignments and floorplans on time and oso death shall fall on the one hu took his bag...
well...the rest of the guys are all FREE...they r back to the old days...stayin out n partyin... >.< kinda weird for mi...hard to stay focus at work too...since they are all enjoyin and stuff...AHhhhhhh....n i still hav a few more torturous wks b4 my hols...
troubles seem to snowball...i reali hope to pass these few weeks smoothly...bless my events...bless my life...
